545 People Responsible For America's Woes

America.....we need to wake up. How is it that 300 million Americans know what we need to fix our country, but the 535 morons in the United States Congress haven't the slightest idea? What has Congress done it the past two years since the democrats have taken over? Not a single productive thing. No...wait......they have given themselves raises. How many of us can vote ourselves a raise, a lifetime pension, free medical insurance for life, and not have to pay into it. We pay Social Security, they do not. I missing something here? The problem is, we keep putting these inept morons back in office. What we should do this year is vote them all out of office. And that brings me to the next topic.

We must institute term limits for all elected officials as we have for the president. Just look at Ted Kennedy, Robert Byrd, Joe Biden , and others who have made a career out of an elected office. These three are the poster boys for term limits. They are all serving their own self interests and are beholding to the PACs and lobbyists who are funneling them money. The corruption will never end until we get them out of office.

We must also pass a national "Resign To Run" law as they have in some states. If you are an elected official, and decide to run for an different office, you must resign your present office to run for the new one. This assures that "WE THE PEOPLE" will still be represented while our elected officials are seeking a new or higher office. A great example is this current election. Both Senators Obama and McCain have been campaigning for the past 19 months. Imagine the following scenario:

Dear Boss,

I have enjoyed working here these past several years. You have paid me very well, given me benefits beyond belief.
I have 3-4 months off per year and a pension plan that will pay my salary till the day I die and a health plan that
most people can only dream about.

Despite this I plan to take the next 12-18 months to find a new position.

During this time I will show up for work when it is convenient. In addition I fully expect to draw my full salary
and all the other perks associated with my current job.

Oh yeah, if my search for this new job proves fruitless, I will be back with no loss in pay or status.
Before you say anything, remember that you have no choice in the matter. I can and will do this.

Every Senator or Congressman running for President.

Try that at your job and tell me how it works out.
